INTENSIVE PROGRAMS (AGES 6 AND UP)

Updated: May 1, 2019

New for the 2019/20 season:

-Junior Intensive dancers must take musical theatre as well as either tap, hip hop or both.

-Intermediate and Senior Intensive dancers must take musical theatre as well as either tap, hip hop or both.

This is the program we offer for the serious competitive students. This is a full competitive dance training program, and these dancers are given more traveling opportunities. Students choosing to go this option are required to attend all festivals and competitions.  We will be doing a team placement evaluation in the fall. Dancers must be able to meet specific criteria in order to make it on the Intensive team.

All Intensive dancers are required to do competitions and exams, should the teacher decide to present them for exams. All competitions have entry fees, and all competition dances have costume fees, these are not included in your tutition fees.

Intensive Competition contracts will be required, and missed classes must be kept to a minimum, or dancers will not be permitted to attend competitions. Competition fees will not be refunded once they have been submitted to the competition organizers.

Our technique classes run all year, as dancers need to continue their training all season. The length of class also allows the teacher time to provide quality instruction to the students. With strong foundations, dancers can take them and go anywhere (workshops, auditions, etc). Please note that a dance grade does not necessarily correlate to school grades.

Intensive team dancers will be required to do studio dances (if applicable), as well as their own separate Intensive team dances. We will do our best to reuse costumes from previous dances to help save on costume costs.

Please note: there are additional choreography fees for Intensive group dances.

All Intensive dancers are required to be in Ballet, Acro, Jazz, Tap, and/or Hip Hop (students must choose at least one). Junior (and older Intensive) dancers are required to do Musical Theatre and Lyrical. Intermediate and older Intensive dancers are required to do Contemporary.
